UNICORNS IN PUBLIC SPACES - 2021
A pop-up installation performance, with two pastel-colored unicorns.
A tribute to hope, freedom and a healing community!
For months, there has been a corona shutdown, assembly bans, winter darkness and isolation, but soon it brightens. The unicorn is a symbol of freedom, a mysterious fabled animal that has healing powers, that bring joy and take us on a much-needed break from the crises, with a fluffy and festive parallel reality.
The blind unicorns stubble, gallop and dance around in the streets, and are accessible to everyone in the public space.
The corona crisis has limited our freedom, and we have not been able to live our lives as we usually do. The lock-down, bans, fines, laws and a fear-based rhetoric both politically and in the media, makes us ask ourselves what consequences it has on us, society and in the art - also in a post-corona community.
